What cuekit does on your Mac
cuekit reads your calendar events and meeting details through the macOS Calendar framework (EventKit) and, optionally, the Google Calendar API via a direct OAuth connection. It uses that information to show upcoming meetings, match templates, prepare workspaces, and optionally update Slack status or show weather.
What stays local
cuekit has no first-party cloud sync and no first-party database that stores your meetings or workspace setup. By default, the following stay on your Mac:
- Calendar events and meeting metadata fetched into cuekit
- Saved cuekit templates, preferences, and workspace rules
- Google and Slack access tokens stored in macOS Keychain
- Window-management and Space-preparation state
- Recent crash/hang diagnostics captured by macOS for support exports
What we do not do
- No advertising identifiers
- No third-party analytics or product telemetry operated by us
- No session replay, heatmaps, or ad tech
- No crash or hang reports sent to us automatically
- No sale of personal information
Third-party services you can enable
cuekit connects to the following external services only when you explicitly enable them or make a purchase:
- Google Calendar API — If you sign in with Google, cuekit communicates directly with Google to fetch your calendar events. We do not receive your Google password. OAuth tokens are stored on your Mac in macOS Keychain.
- Slack API — If you connect Slack, cuekit can update your Slack status before meetings. Your Slack token is stored on your Mac in macOS Keychain.
- OpenWeather API — If you enable weather, cuekit requests local weather data using your approximate location while the app is running.
- Lemon Squeezy — Lemon Squeezy is the Merchant of Record for cuekit purchases. They process checkout, payment, tax, refund handling, and license delivery. Their privacy policy is at lemonsqueezy.com/privacy.
License, order, and payment data
When you buy cuekit, Lemon Squeezy processes your payment and may collect information such as your email address, billing details, country, order number, and license information. We may access limited purchase and customer information made available to us by Lemon Squeezy so we can provide support, verify purchases, handle refunds, and manage licenses.
When you activate cuekit on your Mac, the app sends your license key, a short machine fingerprint, and your installation instance identifier to Lemon Squeezy. This is used for seat management and license validation. The fingerprint is derived locally and is not an Apple advertising identifier.
Once activated, cuekit may re-validate the license periodically. If your Mac is offline, cuekit uses a grace window before asking you to reconnect.
Support emails and other direct contact
If you email us for support, we will receive the information you send us, such as your email address, your message, screenshots, order number, and any diagnostics you choose to share. We use that information only to respond, troubleshoot, and maintain cuekit.
macOS permissions
cuekit may request the following system permissions:
- Calendar access — To read your events from Apple Calendar
- Accessibility — To create desktop Spaces and manage windows for meeting workspaces
- Location while in use — To show local weather if you enable weather
These permissions are managed by macOS and can be revoked at any time in System Settings.
How long information is kept
Most cuekit data remains on your Mac until you delete it or reset the app. Support emails and any order/customer information made available through Lemon Squeezy may be kept as long as reasonably necessary for support, accounting, tax, fraud prevention, and legal compliance.
Your privacy rights
If we hold personal information about you directly, such as support correspondence or limited order information provided by Lemon Squeezy, you can ask to access or correct it by contacting us. If you are in Canada, we aim to handle those requests in line with applicable Canadian privacy law, including PIPEDA where it applies. Depending on where you live, you may also have additional rights under applicable privacy law.
Children's privacy
cuekit is not directed at children and is not intended for use by anyone under the age of majority in their province or territory without appropriate consent.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the updated version here and update the date at the top of the page.
